In Destination Hot Spot, I let bold reds and oranges push through a field of electric blue. I built up the surface with energetic marks, then followed the winding forms as they led me toward a small, bright center. That yellow opening became the painting’s destination for me: a place of warmth and possibility amid all the motion. But I’m just as interested in the path that takes us there—the unexpected turns, the intensity, and the discoveries we make along the way.
