Wrecking Ball- Let Them!

This piece was created in response to a difficult chapter in my professional life. It is a powerful response. After years of dedicating my heart, energy, and vision to building something intended to support and benefit others, I found myself facing opposition from a small group of individuals whose actions ultimately undermined the very mission they seemed to value.

At the time, the experience was painful and deeply disappointing. The behavior displayed felt more reflective of personal agendas and immaturity than of the professionalism and mutual respect that should guide any collaborative endeavor.

With the benefit of hindsight, however, I am grateful for what transpired. Challenges often reveal truths that might otherwise remain hidden. What initially felt like a setback ultimately strengthened our organization, clarified our purpose, and reinforced the values of my vision and upon which it was built.

This work reflects that journey—from frustration and betrayal to acceptance, resilience, and gratitude. Sometimes what appears to be an obstacle is, in fact, a necessary turning point. In the end, our artist community emerged stronger, healthier, and more united. For that, I am thankful.
